Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities Fixed

The patch that is up to be released by communities supporting various Unix-based systems will fix the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities that were detected couples of months ago. This will allow to increase the performance of CPU dramatically.

DCCP Code Cockup Lay

This bug remained unnoticed for almost eleven years and it couldn’t be fixed until February, 2017 when most of the Linux supporting communities released bug fixing soft. This exploit allowed to hack computer and control the content of files or even rewrite those.

Linux Kernel Patch Against CVE-2017-15265 Bug

This vulnerability allowed an attacker to change the privilege setups for the programs executing which was used for a function’s output in attacker’s needs. The thing is such a vulnerability could become a huge problem as it wouldn’t allow the programs to function normally. However, it was noticed in 2015 and since then fixed by a single patch.

Linux Kernel 4.12 Update

This update was performed to fix a little list of small bugs and increase the work speed of system in general. There is a brief list of changes applied:

  • new schedulers for hard disk implemented
  • graphics improvements, increase of compatibility with new graphic cards released
  • optimization of processor performance for this kernel

BlueBorne Fix Patch

This patch for Unix systems was developed to make Bluetooth connection work smoothly. Previously, the Bluetooth software was functioning incorrectly due to the difference in protocols, but after the fix was included to the next kits and released as a patch, users can exploit the Bluetooth functions without problems.

Linux Kernel Update 4.14

This update was developed to avoid regression. For this kernel version an improvement was implemented in functioning of virtual machines, compatibility enforcement with Raspberry Pi and some fixes to EFI to provide more stable boot even in severe conditions.

MacOS High Sierra Security Issues Patch

This patch was released because there was a serious vulnerability available in MacOS – a user could get administrator rights without entering administrator password which could lead to serious security problems in case of hack.

Touch Bar Update for MacBook Pro

This update was released to make MacBook’s touch bar more sensitive and thus provide more comfortable control for users and ensure their use of touchpad more often than a mouse.

Time Remaining Battery Elimination Update

This update was developed to delete the time remaining info when you are looking at battery charge. The thing is the data on the time battery could work inaccurately due to the difference of CPU load depending on the process performed, so this indicator only misinformed the users.

Android Oreo Update

This OS update traditionally was released to increase optimization of CPU, improve graphics and add some new elements in GUI.
